Do you prepare tax returns?
Not ourselves. We keep your books accurate and reconciled all year and work alongside your CPA or EA, who handles tax preparation and planning. If you don't have one, we can include tax preparation as an extended service through our tax partners.
Can you help with payroll?
Yes, and we make it turnkey. We set up payroll with a provider that fits your business, get your employees onboarded, and assist with it from there. Every payroll is recorded in QuickBooks so labor costs are correct and allocated to jobs where needed.
What accounting software do you use?
QuickBooks Online. We work in it every day, including setup, restructuring and cleanup.
Can you work with my job management software?
Yes. We work with the software you already use to track the work — such as Knowify, Jobber, property management or estimating tools — and make sure what reaches QuickBooks agrees with it.
Do I need to give you my QuickBooks password?
No, and you never should. We never ask for logins. Access is granted only through QuickBooks' own accountant invitation. If anyone claims to be from Bookkeepers Lane and asks for a password, call us at 404-330-9369.
My books are months behind. Can you help?
Yes. Cleanup and catch-up work brings the books current, reconciles every account and fixes the structural problems that caused the backlog. We start with a Books Review so you know what's involved first.
What is job costing?
Job costing ties direct costs — labor, materials and subcontractors — to the job that incurred them, so you can see the real gross profit on every job.

Home service contractors, general contractors and builders, roofing, restoration and mitigation companies, real estate investors, and nonprofits and churches. If your business has jobs, projects, properties or locations to account for, the approach usually applies.
Where are you located?
We're based in Woodstock, Georgia. We work with businesses across the Atlanta metro and with clients anywhere in the US remotely — QuickBooks Online, access and reporting are all cloud-based.
How is pricing structured?
Monthly work is a flat monthly fee based on the scope we agree after the free Books Review — not hourly.
